There are many reasons why the warm season is considered the construction season. One of them is the physical characteristics of materials that depend on the ambient air temperature.
For example, adhesive mounting systems are not recommended for use if the daily temperature drops below +10°C.
Therefore, most facade materials have at least two or even more types of fasteners. This also applies to one of our products - Swissperl fiber cement panels.
There is the “summer” method of fastening, i.e. with glue. There is an opinion that this method of installation is more aesthetically pleasing for the facade compared to the “rivet” installation. However, this is up for debate - much depends on the architectural design. The riveted fastening can not only not disturb, but also become a stylish part, an accent element of the fiber cement facade, adding a certain brutality to industrial, loft, grunge and other similar buildings prone to rough aesthetics.
Moreover, mechanical fastening with rivets is possible in any season. And, by the way, the rivet can be painted in any desired RAL color.
In addition, let's take a look at the fastening methods from the point of view of other factors.
Cost. Although the adhesive system gives more aesthetics (which is quite variable, as described above), its cost for the same volume of the facade will be 15-20% higher than the same meterage on mechanical fastening.
However, for the sake of objectivity, we also studied another factor - the speed of installation. Of course, it all depends on the experience of the installation team, but after consulting with our partners, we came to the conclusion that the adhesive system allows you to spend less time on the installation of a hinged ventilated facade than on “riveting”, since the latter requires more thorough preparatory work.
